Maybe some of you are wondering what we do with the money you donate to us. There have been quite some donations and there are also many people who support us via flattr. We really appreciate this! The paypal donations you can give for your favorite release in high quality format (mp3, ogg, flac) we pass on to our artists. 80% of your donation go directly to the artist, we keep a share of 20% to maintain and improve the label. With this 20% share we pay the server bills, print some stickers and posters and create some promotional copies on CD.
We would like to be able to interact with the real world and even more important: we would like to meet our artists more often and we would like them to meet each other more often. That's why we came up with the idea of launching an aaahh records workshop. We thought about renting a house for a week, inviting all our artists, make them bring some equipment and have a lovely aaahh records family get together and jam session. And that is exactly what we are going to do!
We booked a house in Denmark from September 3rd to September 10th 2011, it is near the sea, has room for almost 20 people and it is perfect for jamming, because there is nobody around, but us. We think about opening the house for some kind of aaahh records festival in the last days of our workshop, but we have to check this with the owner, of course. More news on this will follow as soon as we know for sure.
Since this stay costs us probably more than the regular donations and flattrs we get, we would be super happy to get an extra support for this project from you.
