El-status.com is online since 2006 and serves as an entry page to the contemporary Puerto Rican art world - both on the Caribbean island and abroad. Puerto Rico is one of the world's last colonies (a US American colony) and thus doesn't have an international representation. Half of the Puerto Ricans live abroad or are of mixed heritage and seldomly refered to as Puerto Ricans (for example Jean-Michel Basquiat). El-status.com is the initiative of a Swiss-Puerto Rican cultural producer who built and maintaines the site with no other funding than what will come through Flattr!
