One solution could be to provide an "advanced" option in the Flattr account settings. That way most users could continue to use the simpler and most often preferred settings, and users like you could use custom settings much like you described. The reason I think the staff haven't provided such advanced settings for us to use is maybe so they can have the ability to observe user behavior and tweak the system accordingly.
