It’s summer and it’s sweltering. The clouds are even afraid to come out in this heat. Car rides have become mobile saunas and the asphalt appears to swim under the tires. Yet, there stood a man holding a sign on the corner with a cigarette dangling between his lips. Usually at the intersection of Secor and West Central stands a group of men flipping miniature billboards for this or that business. Some of these miniature billboards advertise that their business will even put your business’s advertisement on a miniature billboard just like that and have men hold them on a street corner shouting at passer-byers to consider buying this or that product. Today, there is only this man with a cigarette dangling from his mouth. His own homemade billboard was made from cardboard. The black lettering scribbled on it showed signs that that the black Sharpie used was on it’s last legs, drying up in this heat, too hot to work. His sign read:
