Quick Tip: How to change the default login screen background on OS X Snow Leopard
I used to love customizing all aspects of my Mac back in the old days. A copy of ResEdit and Photoshop 2 were my best buddies. Sadly it's become harder and harder to hack the look and feel of your Mac without buying expensive utils. Yesterday though I wanted to get rid of that god awful space image when I log in so I dug around a bit. I found the simple hack to trick out your login screen. In the finder navigate to /System/Library/CoreServices/ and find the image called DefaultDesktop.jpg. Copy
