#81 - Snow by Tom Throp
Snow!? In November!? Anyone might think it's winter! I had a choice of things to write about today, I was sat there earlier pondering what to comment on. Then it snowed and I knew instantly I had to go online and inform everyone I know it's snowing. Because that what you do when it's snowing. At school, highlight of English was shouting, "It's snowing!" and watching everyone else turn to look out the windows only to realise it's not snowing at all. It worked, even in the middle of summer. We British have a general fascination with the weather anyway, it's never perfect and we seem to rejoice more when we can complain about it. Snow's a great example, it's something different, something to change our regular, boring, repetitiveness of life. Something unexpected, and - much like flashmobs or random high fives - something that breaks the monotony of whatever it is we're doing and cheers us up.
